doc says to stay in bed 4.5 hrs

well, i saw my regular physician. he said his understanding
of the way sleep clinics do SR is that you're supposed
to base the initial amount of time in bed in relation
to the amount of time you are actually sleeping, and
then add an increment, like 30 min. Since i'm only
sleeping 3.5 to 4 hours, he suggested starting
with only 4.5 hours in bed, tho he admits this
is "brutal." he then suggested the idea of
incrementing by 15 minutes each subsequent
week, tho I'm leery of jumping up the length
of time too fast.
