I just wanted to thank Karen, Sleepynj and Sleepydrax who responded to my post about a month ago about obsessive thought incidences I was having at night. I never in a million years would have read up on OCD if you had not suggested it. I think I probaby have mild OCD. In one of the books I read it was suggested that if the attacks only occured at 3 or 4am (which was the case for me) it could be triggered by low blood sugar. I started having a healthy snack at 11pm right before going to bed and it has worked wonders. I went for weeks with no incidences. Then one night I was very tired and skipped the snack, that night I woke up repeating conversations I had that day over and over in my head. Since I started eating a bit before bed, other than the one night I skipped eating, I have not had a single night obsession. I still wake up fairly often and can't get back to sleep but at least now I don't feel like my brain is out of control. Also I think you were right about television being too stimulating. So thanks again, even if I am just fooling myself and the snack cure is all in my mind, I'll take it.
