I just wanted to expound on this a bit more.

I know in the first post I said that that this concept might be difficult to do all day long. However, now that I think about it, this idea of diverting your thoughts and attentions to overcome anxiety was basically my whole platform for curing myself. Not just in bed, but life in general.

I'm sure most everyone who visits this board by now knows that I only started improving when I stopped bending over backwards for this thing and started re-learning how to live a normal life. And I learned that centering all of my thoughts and daily decisions on how it effects my sleep is a loser's game. The key is to get yourself physically and emotionally involved with other things.

Of course, some days its very hard to do this if there is a lack of sleep the night before. This is only natural...And being pre-occupied with sleep when you haven't had much for a few days is perfectly natural. However, I eventually learned, even though I was pre-occupied with sleep, to stop my analyzations and searches for remedies...because even though these SEEM like noble efforts, in the end, they rarely ever helped me actually sleep. And by stopping these activities, I believe that it freed my mind up and allowed it to focus on OTHER THINGS. It's kind of a mental weight that is finally lifted off your brain.

Anyway...that's my take on this. Hope it helps.
