So what do you do with the negative thoughts? The "what if I can't go back to sleep thoughts?"

-------------------------------------------

Well that's a tough one. It really is the $64,000 question that many of us insomniacs would like to have answered. But everyone deals with this in a different way. My piece of advice (based on my own experience) would be to just let them come -- then just let them slide right on by. In fact, I used to even experiment with actually embracing those thoughts....as weird as that sounds...because for me, fighting them only lead to more stress and frustration.

I think when you are sleep deprived, your brain just naturally is on the search for answers. And in my case, since none of the answers really made any sense, my brain just got confused and would keep repeating itself all day long until I finally gave it a better answer....which I eventually learned was -- "There is no answer."

I know this probably sounds really conveluted to a sleep deprived mind. Heck, I think I've confused myself. But I know what I'm trying to say...and the point is this: The answer to this is not near as hard as it seems. And the answer is IN YOU. You just have to relax and find it.
Be yourself. Talk to yourself. Do what feels right in your heart and you'll be alright.

Tom
