I've been there. One night I begged my wife to take me to the hospital. One week all I did was sweep leaves off my deck because that's all I could bring myself to do. All of us with chronic insomnia have the same struggles you are having. Yes, it's hard. Very hard. But it could be a lot worse. We could have cancer or MS, we could be paralyzed or be blind. Life isn't always what we want, but we have to take what we've been given and make the best of it. Tell yourself today, you ARE going to get better. It may take time, a long time, but you WILL recover. Tell yourself that all the time. Just decide right now and pretend you're going to get better. Forget about the past and don't think about the future. I'm in my 6th month of recovery. I still have insomnia but I quit getting depressed about it. And most of my anxiety about it is gone. I did what TomNTexas told me to do: Get on with my life and quit being an insomniac. Slowly but surely it's working. Are you staying up late and getting up early? I never go to bed before 11 no matter what.
