Tom,

Out of those you have gone through this with, are there folks who have recovered from sleep maintenance insomnia? I've had sleep onset before but usually mow it's maintenance. Of course I do take Trazadone every night and that does help me fall asleep quickly. I've taken it for awhile now and have generally benefited from it and have sleep through the night with no hangover the next day at all. However, when I am having a spell of this, nothing is a for sure thing.

Secondly, I am hoping that I am really having a change in my attitude. I realzed several things yesterday about how I am handling anxiety. I fight it and of course that creates tension. (I've got Generalized Anxiety Disorder for which I take 10 mg of Prozac and have for years.) So last night when I woke up at 3:20, I just tried to accept the fact that I was awake. Of course I was hoping that the mere acceptance of it would put me back to sleep. Unfortunately, it didn't. But I actually feel okay today because I didn't lay there fighting with myself. I am assuming that once you change your attitude, you don't immediately start sleeping???? And also, I am vacillating back and forth between the messages, "I'll get through this, I have before, I will again. You will enjoy restful sleep again,! - what if this is my life. Did you have the same struggles?

THanks again for your help.

Molly
