The thing is patience

Posted by DCTom on January 27, 2005 at 11:57:29:

I've noticed quite a few new people posting here lately. When I began coming to this site, I would think things like "yea but my case is different" or "my insomnia is worse" or "seems like most people here aren't recovering...only a few people have recovered." Well I'm here today to say, "none of those things are true." If you are just starting down the path toward real recovery, believe that you CAN and WILL recover. And be patient. The whole program requires patience with your short-term and long-term recovery. Be patient with yourself tonight when you can't get to sleep and be patient with yourself over the long-haul. It's been many months for me but I am improving and it feels great. I believe those people who recover and those who stick with it and don't give in to drugs. Be patience and remember, the very worst thing than can happen to you is that you'll be real tired. You won't die and you won't go crazy.
