It may be true that sleep maintenance is a more difficult problem to solve, but that doesn't make it unsolvable. It is a relatively common experience, especially with emotional disturbances, so provided the underlying cause is something seen before, a solution is likely to be available.

If you think that is an annoyance, which I'm sure it is, consider the extreme end of things - those who not only cannot cannot initiate sleep till late, but cannot initiate it at all. Just to put things into perspective - you'll most likely be fine in time, and maybe with some change to your sleep habits if they were the cause.
