Bright Light a blessing!

Posted by dizzylyd1 on January 28, 2005 at 06:38:44:

I was frightened that the 25 mg. of Paxil wasn't working on me anymore after 12 years of being on it. It lost it's potency. I didn't want to increase, since I'm 55 years of age and didn't know how much I'd be on by the time I reached 70! I started with the bright light regimen and getting to sleep the same times every night and waking the same time every morning. I can't tell you how happy I have become that it is working for me! I am an indoors person and get no bright sunshine in my life, especially since the weather is so brutally cold in New York now. I can't express the happiness I feel with myself at this time! I wanted to share this with everyone. If you are a person like me, and get no sunshine in your life, then you must look into the bright light therapy. It does work. If you are a person like me that was waking after 3 or four hours of sleep, you must use the light in the evening. I use it from 7PM - 7:30 every night and I have been getting 7 hours sleep every night this week. What a blessing!! If you are a person that has trouble falling asleep, then use the bright light/lamp in the morning for a half hour. You MUST be consistent with it, however! I cannot stress enough how helpful this is! Please look into it asap. Dizzy
