GaryB, I've posted here many times over the last year. I had horrible insomnia, and I was also diagnosed with OSA. I am now recovering from both (and using CPAP as are you). During my recovery from insomnia, I've certainly felt the same as you feel. I sleep 4 to 6 hours but wake up feeling almost identical to when I first fell asleep. I am pretty sure this is a stress-related thing. I was horribly anxious a year ago and didn't sleep much at all for months. I think my brain is still in "anxious mode" when I sleep now. And I think I have lots of sleep debt to gain back. Maybe you are having the same thing happen. If you had OSA for a long time, it could be just that you're catching up on "real" sleep. Take some time to search the Apnea Forums in addition to this Forum. I found some great advice over there. Most important: Don't worry about this. Worry only serves to make it worse. If it is indeed stress, then try to flow with it. You'll be OK. Although you feel bad, you're probably healthy. Just stay positive, eat right, get some moderate excercise. This too will pass. P.S. You might also see about another sleep test to make sure you need CPAP and it's working at the right pressure.
