I find the longer it takes me to get to sleep, the poorer I sleep and the faster I wake up. I think it's because the anxiety builds up. But if I fall asleep fast, I almost always do better throughout the night. Also, if I fall asleep fast one night, my confidence builds and I gain some momentum into the next night. So we need to figure out how to get you to fall asleep faster. What happens if you just stay up all night and don't even try to go to sleep? I'd say give it a try and I bet the next night you go to sleep right away. That way maybe you start to gain some confidence. The secret to SR-success is beating yourself into submission. A while back I had to travel to California. It was really hard and I got almost no sleep. But I got so incredibly tired that when I got back, I fell right to sleep. The next night the same. And so on. It started a really good streak for me. Maybe try staying up all night and see what happens the next night. I sincerely sympathize with how hard it is to get through the day. On a new job especially. I'll pray for you today.
