I'm so sorry about your recent difficulties. But try to remember that the amount of medication you've been on for so long has undoubtedly contributed to your body's broken rhythms. Many people on this board have gone through the painful process of weaning themselves off meds. It takes a while for the body to get on track again, but it will. Your body is not separate from nature; it IS nature, and will follow its own cycles if allowed to. But like anyone getting off drugs, it's bumpy. If you insist on meds, Lunesta is supposed to be superior for long term use. But again, with the level of your addiction, I don't frankly see any alternative than getting off meds altogether. From reading this board for a while, I have gathered that meds are only trouble. About exercise, I've also been able to see, from my own research and from reading this board that exercise - even just a half hour of walking a day in the daylight - is magic! No matter how difficult it is, and how miserable you feel, try to drag your self out for a brisk walk. It resets your circadian rhythm, gets you breathing and circulating, brings your temperature up, so that it can fall at night (one of the things that brings on sleep), etc. Good luck~
