Right you are. This is the realization that
has been growing in my own thinking over
the past six months or so. What I've been
discussing with my therapist is precisely
the examination of my pre-insomnia self, to
adopt practices in my life that better
deal with the underlying tension and
insecurity and anxiousness that made me
susceptible to insomnia to begin with. Like
you, I came to a realization I'd been lucky
that up til now I'd never had insomnia.
My resilience had been strong enough that
i was able to avoid insomnia despite the
underlying anxiousness. At a certain point
my defenses were overwhelmed.
