Rooibos tea?

Posted by mjc on May 23, 2005 at 19:50:13:

I was just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with Rooibos tea. I had some a few weeks ago and felt that afterwards I slept better (i.e. - slept for about 4 hours straight through - and then woke up a couple of times more - but not nearly as much as usual) I then looked it up online and see that various websites say it is supposed to help with disturbed sleep patterns and for insomnia generally. Apparently there haven't yet been any studies done to test it WRT this use. I've been drinking it every day since that first introduction and now I've cut back by 1/2 on an anti-depressant which I was taking to help me sleep (Trazodone) and am hoping to be able to eliminate it altogether.
