I took OTC pills for about a year, before I graduated onto Ambien, Klonopin, etc. Everyone is different and you may find your "addiction" is purely psychological. You may have a few bad nights sleep and then be OK. Or it may be more difficult for you to get back into a good sleep groove. It sounds like you stopped for a while. How long did you stop taking the pills before quitting and taking them again?
