New post, much trouble sleeping

Posted by norcaldn on May 24, 2005 at 17:51:37:

A job change and work pressures set off my anxiety induced insomnia, it has been 5 weeks now without a single good night's sleep. My doc prescribed Ambien, but I am off it now. It doesn't like me. I am now taking 10 mg Paxil in the morning to treat the anxiety / depression and I am not particularly happy about that. I have ordered the books mentioned on the site and want to start SR. I am getting around 2-3 hours per night, rarely more, and it is broken and light sleep. It is amazing what the body can take, I am hardly even tired during most days. My work is affected though, it is difficult to concentrate and I am forgetful. This is a tough new chapter for me and I am glad to have a forum like this to see what others are doing and what is working for them (or not).

I have started therapy and I believe that I am getting a handle on the anxiety, little by little. Still, the insomnia is tough but I am staying positive. Any advice is appreciated!
