I feel for you and know how frustrating this is - i would suggest you go to Catholic Charities or a mental health agency where you can learn relaxation exercises or biofeedback or cognitive behavioral techniques - i hear they are good - i think it is all on a sliding scale - these mental health agencies and very affordable - you got the run around and yes - they don't know what to do so they prescribe meds, meds and more meds - maybe if they could just put you on a mild tranquilizer just for a short time you will learn how to sleep again - that won't hurt you - those SSRI antidepressants did NOTHING for me - they wired me EVEN MORE and kept me up every day and night - you need someone to talk out these stresses - a trained mental health counselor will - if medicine is needed you will get it - every mental health center has a psychiatrist to prescribe meds but again - tell them you just need something for your anxiety - i am sure you can take a small dose for a while - as long as you are being monitored - this is what I would do - NOT many different meds - my oh my you will feel even WORSE - hope this helps -
