Did the ativan replace the ambien? Both
have a tendency to increased tolerance
over time. I doubt that ativan tolerance
would develop in a month. It took more
like six months for me to notice it but
i was taking less than you. And everybody
is unique so who knows? I was taking
1 mg once or twice a week, then half mg
three times a week. Maybe you are having
some combined ambien/ativan tolerance.

Yes, you can taper off ativan. Ativan
goes out of your system very quickly. Within
about a day or two it's gone. So because
i was taking a half mg three times a week, i
was able to simply drop it cold turkey. But
you might try reducing to half mg every other
day before going off it. I found that my
sleep would be worse for a week or two after
going off embien or ativan. I also noticed
things like shaky hands and difficulty
concentrating as withdrawal symptoms from
ativan. But it goes away.

Focus on the fact that you're getting 6 hours
or more sleep a night, that is pretty good.
