I had to take steroids once for an infection. It made it completely impossible for me to sleep, regardless of how many sleeping pills or traquilizers I took. I didn't finish the full course of treatment due to this. Steroids are notorious for this effect.

This is a difficult situation for you, because I imagine the steriods are absolutely necessary for your husband. I hope your doctor will work with you to see if there is anything your husband can take that can mitigate their effect. Good luck to both of you.
