Tolerating sleep deprivation

For people who are new to insomnia, it's important you realize that sleep deprivation won't hurt you. You'd be surprised at how well you can operate on little sleep. I think that for many of us, when we first got insomnia, we totally freaked out and worried about living on so little sleep. But your body adjusts, just like it does for any other disease or disorder. I slept terrible last night, but I'm OK today. So don't freak out; it just makes things worse! Go with the flow.
