CBT really helped me many years ago. But then something unpleasant happened (as it always does in life) and I found myself back in the bad habits. But I am now back on track and doing better, even though still waking up several times a night and sometimes waking early too. At least this is some improvement, even though I am hoping and working towards the day when I can get more than 5-6 hrs. Once more about depression: who wouldn't be depressed when you have to do life without any decent rest. When I was in the middle of excruciating insomnia, I felt so removed from life, I was a zombie. There were times I was even contemplating suicide. But it does get better when yo don't give up.
