I've found that checking the clock has different
effects on me. If i get up and find that there's
a lot more time left in the night than i thought,
i find that is a relief. On the other hand,
if there's only an hour left, I take the
attitude, "Oh well, so I'll just enjoy it lying
here and relaxing." However, I generally resist
the temptation to look at the clock. It sets up
the wrong attitude, if one gets into constantly
doing that. I do wake up frequently. However,
it's very rare now that I lie wide awake
for long periods in the middle of the night.
I do occasionally wake up early, however. I
did that this morning. I think I woke up and
was pretty awake an hour or more before the
alarm. I didn't check the time, tho. I just
took it as a time to enjoy relaxing.
