Gadgirl:
I feel your pain! I have been an insomniac most of my life. I've tried it all - Ambien, Sonata, Trazodone, Alprazolam...and the list goes on. I find myself doing the same thing, obsessing about not sleeping - psyching myself out of it in the meantime. My doctor has recommended a sleep study test to find out why I am not sleeping. Has this been recommended to you? It sounds like you had a lot on your mind with all that is going on - and sometimes relaxation techniques just don't cut it. My doctor is recommending Xanax now - have yet to try it because I've had so many negative side effects to any and all medication. So, if you find something that works consistently - please let me know. I just read an article that said 1 of 3 people have insomnia - staggering numbers. Just know that you are not alone. It's good to type stuff out on paper - at least it is for me. Good luck!
