Posted by Justwanttosleep on February 21, 2006 at 10:56:48:I have had insomnia for about six months now. It began when my partner would get up for work at 3:30am. I wasn't working at the time so I would get up with him and go back to sleep an hour or so later. This was fine when I wasn't working but was not fine when I began to work again. I started to take perscription pills at this point and I feel things skyrocketed out of control at this point.
For months I took Lunesta and Restoril, sometimes seperately and sometimes together. Nothing really worked. I tried anti depressants as well but felt very uncomfortable and therefore they didnt really work.
But anyway I have for the most part weened myself off of the pills altogther. Except for last night I have been able to fall asleep BUT I can not maintain sleep. I wake up in the middle of the night and struggle with trying to fall back asleep. I have started to take a third of my old crutch lunesta however I dont want to be taking anything.
I am always so tired at night, I have a stressful job and all I want to do when I get home is sleep. So I fall asleep at around 9 but am up at 1 or 2. Granted I have slept for 4 or 5 hours but that is not enough.
What can I do? Should I stay up later? Keep taking the pills?
Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.
