First, I think that basic training is going to be hard enough, and if you can't sleep then it might really take a toll on your body not only physically - but mentally. Years ago I was in the police academy (kinda like basic training I would imagine) - and we did not sleep the first few days because they kept on waking us up - you know, the head game part - but when it was time to sleep - believe me...we were tired and slept! If you have trouble with that I would say to let them know. Maybe talk to your recruiter. There are so many people (I think it's like 1 in 3) that have sleeping disorders - I would not be embarassed at all. I don't know -I was not in the military so I have no advice about that. Maybe some one else in the forum can advise you as to whether or not you should tell them. I would. Good luck. cat
