Yeah it seems like the Paxil is making the insomnia worse, but when I talk to my GP he says that it takes at least 4-5 weeks before the Paxil really starts working.
Per his instructions, I am about to increase my dosage to 25 mg, and I'm nervous that this will make things even worse! But I've also read that SSRI's can help insomnia. That's why it gets very confusing:
Do you stay the course and hope it gets better, or do you jump off the horse in the middle of the race because it doesn't seem to be working?
I have tried to call a few Psych doctors, but of course the soonest you can get in to see one is 4-6 weeks! I suppose that's better than nothing, but by then I may be a total wreck from lack of sleep!
The biggest problem is the broken sleep pattern: fall asleep at 10PM, wake up at 11:30. Fall asleep again at 1AM, wake up at 2:30, etc. Very tough.
When you had the insomnia with Paxil, what was the pattern?
