My Doc is very reluctant to stop the Paxil, because he says that he has never heard of an SSRI causing insomnia! He wants me to take it for at least a few more weeks....UGH.

I've read on some very good (medically speaking) websites, and they say that SSRIs usually only help with insomnia when it is caused by depression- and may actually cause insomnia for someone with a different problem.

I certainly do not have any history of depression!

Do you have to wean off the Paxil before going over to the Remeron? I have read that Remeron is one of the best meds for anxiety related insomnia.
