Yes, don't stop Paxil abruptly- you will get flu-like symptoms. I think insomnia is listed as a side effect of SSRIs, isn't it? Paxil may help your anxiety, and perhaps that will eventually improve your sleep....but why wait months when something else could help more quickly? Or maybe keep taking the Xanax until the Paxil kicks in?
