Well, if you are on the med track, Remeron worked well for me. It still helps some but I have to do CBT as well. Nothing will cure it, but in my opinion, meds can be part of the solution, especially initially. The Remeron helped break the cycle of anxiety and sleeplessness for me and gave me the edge I needed to use CBT. At first it worked great and I slept all night but then the anxiety broke through and I had to learn more CBT. Seems like most people agree to stay away from Ambien and other sleep aids...I never tried them. Remeron is an antidepressant,like Trazadone.
