Thanks, friends, for your messages. I really love reading what you all have to say. It helps to know that you are not alone in this.

Last night I was pretty worn out and tired. I took a Doxepin in addition to my Ativan, and I really caught up with some sleep. It always amazes me how much better and "normal" I feel when I get some decent sleep which has been a rarety lately.

I know that relaxation is very important and lately I have started to confront the anxiety. Why am I anxious. What do I gain by being anxious. Sort of a conversation with myself.

Have any of you heard of the emotional freedom tapping? I have been doing that too. It does help a little. A friend of mine swears by it. She does it when she wakes up in the middle of the night. I don't know whether I am allowed to go into details about it, but you can look it up on the search engine. It is quite interesting.

Some time ago, I listened to relax. CDs before going to bed, lying on the floor with my feet up. That really worked. The funny thing is, some things work for a while and then something happens, some upset or something, and it doesn't work anymore.

I definitely have learned through the years various relaxation techniques, breathing techniques and so on, and I have to say that they are very helpful in calming myself down. The interesting thing is that sometimes I go to bed feeling truly relaxed and not anxious, or so it seems, and I still cannot go to sleep. It is a riddle.
