I took Trazodone,2-300 mg. a night for about a year. I`ve been off of them for about 2 months now. I`m still having trouble sleeping, if I ever get to sleep to begin with. Once I get to sleep I can sleep fine it`s just getting there thats hard for me. The dose I was taking was a strong one from what I can gather from other people and other Dr.s. I just got tierd of taking so many different meds., some of which I had become to dependent on. I have MS and have to take Zoloft for dpression but other than that I`m drug free!!! Try to stay off of the Trazodone if you can it`ll take some time for your body to get adjusted to not taking it as I`m sure you know especially if you took it for 5 years. Goodluck, we all need a little of that!!
