I understand what you are saying, but there are other options you haven't tried. I have paradoxical reactions to nearly everything (including all the things you mentioned and quite a few prescriptions), but an antidepressant seems to work for me. Nothing is worse than not sleeping except having sleeping medicine keep you awake. You have my sympathy.
