Posted by Claire on December 07, 1999 at 04:39:10:I work shift work and I am on different schedule then 30 other people in the building I live in. I usually get home from work around 12:30am go to bed at 2:30am. I have broken up sleep because two hours after going to bed my neighbors go to work between 4:00am and 7:00am.
I get 2 hours sleep. I wake for 2 1/2 hours and then go to bed and get 3 to 4 more hours sleep from 7:00am to 11:00am.
I dont think I have a sleep disorder (I have an enviromental problem) lol. I also have a head injury that makes it difficult to get to sleep. and a low sz threshold whe sleep deprived.
I can get no meds from doctor because he thinks I am just depressed. My shrink says I am not depressed. Some one on another forum suggested Melatonin. Desparate I tried it.
It worked great for getting me to sleep right when I get home from work. I had no depression side affects. I will not keep asleep however. Tylenol pm quit working for me.
Any other over the counter (no doc) suggestions?
