I need hep with Excessive Saliva / Numbness

Posted by Mike on December 14, 1999 at 09:00:33:

I need help with an answered question. I don’t feel the doctor is giving me enough answers.

Early this year around March 99, I had a flu for 2 weeks following the flu, I started having a burning sensations in my tongue, some bleeding on and off from the tongue including discoloration in the tongue to whitish color. Always had to clear my throat several times a day.

I did see the doctor and she dismissed it and said it will go away. I went back month latter to see a second doctor, she gave me some medication to possible fungus in my mouth.

I took that, but the condition didn’t go but wasn’t as bad as before.

2 months ago, I started having excessive Saliva, I did see the doctor 3 weeks ago, he dismissed it and said maybe I am stressed out and there’s no indication to any thing. And said come back if it doesn’t go away. He gave me Anti-Depressant “NORTRIPTYLINE 10MG CAPSULES” and asked to me to one before bedtime, if one doesn’t work to take two to cut down on the saliva.

Went back again 2 days ago and saw a nurse who works for the doctor.
I explained to her everything I have been going through for the last 8 months. Especially the excessive Saliva which have increased and having the inner skin break up in my lower lip.

She examined my mouth and tried to connivance my that I may have been stressed out or worrying too much. She said there’s no indication to any thing serious. I insisted to see specialist (ENT) doctor. She said thy are busy and I might have to wait 3 months to get an appointment for a head and nick doctor

A day latter before I went to sleep started having numbness in my left cheek then my right one, went to sleep and tried to forget about it.

When I walk up, the numbness came back slowly starting with my left face and then my right face.
Now I feel the numbing on my entire face, including around my left eyes and ear, and some numbness in my left hand.

I am getting scared and I am not sure what's going on. I haven’t gone back to the doctor.

Any advice.

Thanks
