Hello Mike,
I had the same problem with excessive saliva in my mouth after taking antibiotics. The doctors told me the same thing it was depression, and gave me antidepressants. I never took the meds; eventually the excessive saliva went away. It however took almost a year, and a half. The numbness could be caused by stress and worry but you never know. I have had those type of sensation associated with an infection of the sinuses, have you been checked for an infection. I don’t have any answers but wanted to let you know you are not crazy.
By the way did any of the doctors tell you why stress, and depression causes excessive saliva? I never got an good answer.
