This bothers me. I am probably a stumbler as well. I wake up frequently in the night. However, to have a sleep doctor tell someone to take Sonata doesn't seem right. In Canada, we don't even have "sonata" or Starnoc anymore. We don't have the option. It has been removed for us. I have taken 2 mg timed release melatonin for about the past month. After about two weeks I noticed I wasn't waking up in the night. I slept right through. I wasn't sure what was doing it. Anyway, last night I didn't take melatonin as an experiment and was right back waking up after a couple hours. I believe it is the melatonin that helps me stay asleep. Although it doesn't get me to sleep. Have you tried taking melatonin to see if it keeps you asleep? Might take awhile, and the first few nights you get more dreams, but that goes away. I know I have anxiety about falling asleep but if I can stay asleep it really helps so I don't have to try to get back to sleep numerous time in the night. Anyone else have experiences with melatonin? Good luck to you.
