Thanks for the melatonin advice Cairo. I wish an antidepressant would work for me. I tried Remeron a couple years ago and it made my anxiety worse. If affected my blood sugar. I was shaky and had to eat all the time. I gained about 10 pounds in two weeks. I tried it out for a month and didn't sleep much for that whole month. When I get "low blood sugar" (never medically documented, just a feeling), my anxiety goes through the roof and I start hyperventilating. I am taking half the smallest dose of lexapro now and it controls anxiety and low blood sugar perfectly but doesn't help with sleeping at all. I also tried Trazadone and I think I was allergic to it. My nose got all stuffy and my throat seemed to swell up. In addition to no longer having Starnoc available, I am finding a new doctor. Mine of 10 years is retiring. So I am looking for a doctor that wants to work with me. The last one said I should try remeron, trazadone, amitryptaline and Paxil. Now I have to go through and explain (in my very short 10 minute appointment, that I have tried all of these meds and more, except Paxil. I am having trouble finding a doctor that will take the time to listen. I am not really interested in switching from Lexapro because I don't think it has very many side effects for me. I have been told I am sensitive to meds. Anyway...I have about 14 Starnoc pills left...then I don't know what will happen. I was hoping melatonin would be an easy solution, and it has helped cut back my Starnoc from two pills to one pill because I don't wake up in the night.
