Regarding the flashing lights, I noticed I was getting flashes when I moved after laying in one position for a long time. Also, sometimes a luminous ring that appeared briefly. I did some research, and concluded that it had something to do with the retina.
I called an eye doctor and was told my retina might have a tear. I did nothing about it, and after many years, it hasn't gotten any worse. The herb bilberry can sometimes repair minor eye problems with long-term use (other than vision). If you have insurance, you might want to have it looked at.
