"The only thing that matters is what works for you."
I think he may have been saying this in reference to sleep drugs, but regardless, that is truly a profound statement that could be extrapolated to all aspects of your sleep. I mean think about all the things you've done, all the worrying, all the sadness, all the frustration, all the experimental sleep aids, and everything else that doesn't work....none of that stuff matters. The only thing that matters is what works. That should be your focus -- the good stuff. Everything else is just mental clutter that complicates the issue.
The solution to life's most difficult problems are often grounded in simplicity. Life was not designed to be complicated....Life was designed to be enjoyed. And if you think about it, it's the simple things that are most enjoyable: family, friends, hugging your kids, telling your spouse you love her, giving help to those who need it, etc. For me, finding the simple life was the key to getting better....as Bob said, it (the simple life, for me) was the only thing that mattered because it was the only thing that worked.
Good words, Bob.
