CBT might be good for some, but not for me. I have a very hard time with it. What I do for my early morning awakenings is take a small dose of Remeron (7.5 mg.) at about 10:15PM, get into bed and read a book in a dark room with a book light. Before I know it, I am asleep and sleep much later into the morning hours. I used to awaken at 2-3AM. That was horrible, but now I awaken 4:30-5AM. I have to be up at 5:45AM for work, so it's only an hour or less earlier. And.. I am getting more sleep to boot. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.
