Thank you all for the words of encouragement. As you all know insomnia makes such a huge impact on our lives that if I ever do feel depressed is because of my inability to sleep. I must say I am also pretty disturbed by claims of psychiatrists who are quick to diagnose depression based on a singular symptom. What is even more worrisome is that my psychiatrist knows that I have a doctorate in psychology and know a lot about the related field of psychiatry yet she still imposes her theories on me.
I'm still at the point of wavering on the use of medication after I took such pains to withdraw from Paxil (although I must say I have gotten amazing sleep on that little pill) but may consider if my situation doesn't improve. I am still pursuing herbal therapies (including now St. John's Wort tincture)with hopes of avoiding any medication but if improvement doesn't come soon I will probably turn to something like Remeron or Trazodone(I have used it in the past). For now, I still wake up way too early and get frustrated over not getting a restful sleep but I believe that one day I'll get back to the point I was a year ago where I was sleeping like a baby.
