I took Lexapro in the hope that it would help me get off of Remeron, which caused me to gain weight. I took it for 6 months, and while I did feel a little happier and less anxious, it didn't do squat for my sleep. So I decided there was not much point in taking 2 medications for sleep when 1 did the trick. Yes, I kept taking the Remeron right along, because whenever I tried to stop it, I went right back to sleeping lightly, waking up a lot, etc.
