You should have been all checked out by a doctor with blood tests beforehand, so probably nothing physical. I think the only thing you can do is switch to a sedating antidepressant. But I think they all have side effects. I'm wrecked in the afternoon on Imovane. Taking Valerian or 5-HTP at about 5 pm helped with what I call the "withdrawal" but I don't know. 5-HTP does help headaches, I haven't had one since I started it, very low dose. I believe it is because of the short half life of the Imovane and a person goes through daily withdrawal, no matter what the dose. I don't think it happens to everyone, just some people. With the Oxazepam, being a benzo you will likely have to keep upping the dose for it to work. I don't think there is an easy solution. I do have some hope riding on this new thing to do with magnetic pulses. A cardiologist was talking about it on the radio the other day. It is in clinical studies now and something proven should be out in 2 or 3 years he said. He says we need something non-medicine for all the hypertensive diabetics out there, that's where I'm headed. So for those of us who can't seem to find it within ourselves to sleep on our own, there is some hope. I know the answer is inside each of us, sleep is natural, but it sure takes a long time to get it back once the fear of insomnia is there. It's all mostly anxiety I'm sure, buried deep in the mind. I went to the doctor today to get Amitryptaline, but I was denied. She gave me 15 imovane and is referring me to a psychiatrist....again.
