Sounds pretty horrible.

How could taking medication possibly be worse? all medications don't "dumb you down"...some help you sleep with minimal side effects. I'm quite bright, actually, and I sleep well most of the time. I take 25 mg of trazodone every night and 3.75 mg of Remeron around once a week. At those doses, that is the pharmocological equivalent of a baby aspirin; which, by the way, I also take. I bet you take all kinds of painkillers: ibuprofen, acetaminophen, with no second thought, right? What's the difference?

I'd take pills in a minute rather than suffer as you and Lerlo are suffering. I don't feel offended, but I also don't have a ton of sympathy for people who suffer so they can say they are med-free. Sorry about that, no offense meant. You are entitled to handle your insomnia any way you please, but believe me, there are easier ways.

Some insomnia can be handled without meds, and some can't. The trick is finding out which is which. There's not a guarantee that you have the type that doesn't need some medication and that it will just get better if you tough it out. For some it does, for others, like me, it doesn't and medication is helpful.

Just my two cents.
