Casablanca...I'm intrigued by this setback of yours because you were perking along so well. How do you explain it? What are you telling yourself about sleep that you weren't before?
My guess is that this is a CBT issue...you must be returning to negative sleep thoughts, because otherwise, you would not be feeling so desperate and depressed about it, you would just be riding it out. That's the clue. When I have rough patches now, I don't get anxious or depressed about it anymore because I don't have those automatic negative thoughts flowing through my head. I get tired, and annoyed, but not miserable.
Try writing them down and capturing them so you can see if there are some irrational ones in there that you can change. Things like "oh no, I'll just get worse and worse" or "what if I never sleep well again" or "this is terrible, awful, etc."
Those are the kind of thoughts that keep you revved up and unable to calm down enough to sleep.
Just a thought.
