You are getting older and do not require that much sleep anymore. That is your body telling you this. Six, seven and eight hours sleep is more normal. What kind of work do you do that you need to keep those hours?

I have been doing light therapy for many years now and see a slight improvement, but the meds can be masking that. I don't really know. I'm mixed up as to what time of day I should be using it too. Some people say morning and some say evening - maybe it's both? I do not know. My psychiatrist says morning is better, however, I did try it and it never worked for sleep maintenance. I have no trouble falling asleep - it's staying asleep that is an issue. I am up by 2-3AM. The other day I slept from 10-3AM, but I wasn't tired the next day - I guess the 5 hours was enough. Everyone is different with the amount of sleep they need I guess!
