Okay, well in the beginning I tried the usual, chamomile tea, warm baths with lavender, milk with honey etc etc... didn't work. So then I tried Valerien from the chemist, it worked for 2 nights and then didn't anymore. My anxiety was getting worse and worse. I went to the doctor and she was so unhelpful, gave me a script for Temaze (ristoril) and said use only if you are desperate and only 2 at the most. Well I ended up taking them for 2 weeks, not 2 nights... I was getting a bit of sleep on them but there were still nights I'd lie awake thinking "I have drugs in my system and they're not doing anything". That idea disturbed me, so following someone elses advice I went to a naturopath, and she got me on to magnesium supplements and 5HTP and a healthy diet and exercise ... it took about 3-4 weeks for it to kick in really well and now I am sleeping pretty much every night ... I would call that a good success.

I also went to meditation class once a week for a month, and bought a CD which also helped me get off to sleep.

But now I find that with what I'm putting in to my body (healthy food and supplements) and going to bed half an hour before my partner and reading something taxing like the Lord of the Rings, I just drift off, he comes in and takes my book away and gets in to bed and the next thing I know it's 2am and I've woken up not knowing what happened (LOL) and I'll drift off to sleep half an hour later again to wake up at 5am.
