Hi..I agree about the 42-43yo thing with hormones and sleep maintenence..
It has happened to me and most other friends of the same age ( and I'm a male)
There is no way that just "thinking right" helps this chemical/hormonal dysbalance to change

We all go to sleep ok and then awaken about 3 hours after and then every 90 mins after...
I have been studying this for years and know that it has nothing to do with stress(of course stress can do this but when it happens day after happy day when ones stress levels are very low and indeed to 90% of the planet and indeed all these people USED to sleep well before 42-43-44.....What gives?)
I have learnt a few things such as ..just because you are awake doesnt mean that you should get up to go to the toilet..because if you "train" yourself to go to the toilet at 2.30 am you will perpetuate it...and now not only wake up at 2.30 but now wake up with a full bladder...definately easier to roll over and go back to sleep if your toilet time is later at 7am.

I have also found that Potassium citrate gives me a better sleep..I still wake up but I have SLUMBER and go back to sleep straight away .
Marijuana (I am not advocating this) also gives you this 'Slumber" when you come to and the ability to doze straight back off.
My personal opinion is that most of this age related sleep maintence problems is just that..age related...what happens to our chemistry as we get older?
And i am sorry but I dont believe that this type of sleep problem can be resolved by just thinking right ..
