Since it sounds like you've tried tapering your liquids close to bedtime and that isn't working, how about simply accepting that your body is going to wake you for a bathroom break, instead of fighting the idea? Maybe acceptance will offer some relaxation. Then, if it keeps happening, try a different strategy for relaxing afterwards to let sleep happen. I usually move myself onto the living room couch and listen to classical music at low volume, and that puts me out.

Have you had your urinary system checked out by your GP to rule out anything serious?
