Remeron question for Cairo

Posted by Suzi on July 01, 2008 at 19:47:18:

Hi Cairo - I have read hundreds of your postings and am totally inspired by your recovery. I am hoping to be where you are soon. I have insomnia which started with one bad night earlier this year and quickly became a nightmare as I started to contemplate the consequences of not sleeping for the rest of my life. I know it's dramatic, but it's hard to be reational on no sleep.

I have had some success with Remeron (15mgs) although for the past few nights my sleep hasn't come and now I am feeling those old niggling anxieties about not getting to sleep again.

A couple of questions for you (or anyone else out there). Do you still get bad nights where you lay awake for hours? If so, how do you stop the anxiety from rearing its ugly head over and over again, damaging all of that good work you've done? And, finally, do you think there is any merit in reducing my dose from 15mg per night to 7.5mg? I read everywhere that 7.5mg is more sedating.

Any thoughts gratefully received.
